The animations and colors don't appeart to be working on the rest of the page either. It looks fine during editing but not once the page is saved and viewed.

But it seems ok now in my end. I can see the image.

I just looked on another device (mobile) and it doesn't show there either. Also, if you look at the next section, it's also missing background in the live view. As well as the area towards the bottom of the page, free consultations, you can see blue background in the editor, but not in the live preview.

I just tried on another browswer (opera) and it looks fine for most things. I've been trying different things. Some changes stick and look good while others lose their formatting or only do some of it. It almost seems like there's a cache issue or something. Can you help?

Then just clear your Joomla and Browser cache. Then check again. Because it seems ok on my end.
