Hi there, I have upgraded my site to J4 and built up the template with Helix Ultimate 2 Framework. Now the standard contact form is throwing an error in the console when submitting the form
Uncaught SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 2 column 1 of the JSON data
The e-mail is being sent but the progress circle is spinning without a success message. I had same problem before regarding this topic: https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/19724
The solution was to update to the latest SPPB version. But now I have the latest version running and I already overinstalled without any success. So what to do now?

What is "standard contact form"? Joomla contact component ? Contact addon from SPPB ??
In most cases this problem was caused by CSS/JS compression or JS conflict.

Accepted AnswerStandard is the normal contact form - not the forms generator. The site is running free from compress plugins - I have deactivated JCH - same problem. Your test emails are going through - I have received them.
Btw. The problem is NOT occuring on the Joomla 3 site - with custom template installed. So it must have something to do with J4 in Combination with Helix Ultimate

Accepted AnswerForm builder works fine.
I set exacly as it was Contact Form - just use it instead.

So I have to switch the contact form on every update to J4 with the fact that the standard contact form module aint working any more? That cant be the solution, am I right?

Accepted AnswerI have no idea, on many sites Contact addon still work without that weird effect.
Using Form Builder - in my opinion - is better. More flexible solution.

Accepted AnswerFor you Paul its clear to use the form builder. But for me as a developer, Im the one who needs to explain the client. What if the client wants to use this addon in the future? I need to tell him that the product is broken down after update. Yes I agree that form builder ist the more flexible plugin, but for me its now work to rebuild the contact section with the new addon. Time and money I cannot get back from my customer. but its a strange strategy not to go after this problem when it happens the second time after update. Maybe no time to invest in Version 3?! I just can guess but this is not professional, sorry for that.

Here is a site I did not even upgraded. Same issue. Its NO solution to redesign every contact form and leave the page builder addon with a fail function. This is simply a bug that has to be solved. Both contact forms are not working here:
What should I do? Test all my 120 Websites to check if the forms are working? kweb
