New Pagebuilder User With Questions

SP Page Builder 2 years ago

I paid for a subscription to SP pagebuilder yesterday. I'm a new user to it and Joomla. I have a couple of things to bring up that aren't working correctly and see if you have a solution. I am running a fresh install of the most current version of Joomla with the Helix Ultimate template.

  1. smarc.club/joomla This is my test site that I'm working on. I spent one day to come up with what you see. Not much but it's a start. I'm getting all the pages and links set up first, then myself and the club president will update all the pages with actual content. It's a small site with a limited number of users.

I installed pagebuilder on top of the helix template. On the top menu bar you'll see RESOURCES and when you hover your mouse over it a green box pops up with no text. The actual links to the child links are there, you'll see if you move your mouse down, but the text doesn't appear. I don't know where the issue lays with this. I looked all around in the Joomla backend and in the pagebuilder menus to look for a font color soultion but couldn't find anything to fix the issue of no text appearing on the RESOURCES dropdown link.

  1. Our club is going to want a membership form on our site so I tried setting up a form on the MEETINGS page. The form appears, and after filling the fields and clicking submit, I get an error message "email sent failed, fill required field and try again!" None of the fields are set to be required.

  2. How can I cut the green bar at the bottom half in size?

Hi. You have incorrectly tuned the colors in the active preset. The background in your drop -down menu is green. The same color has a text. Helix optionss > Presets. Set the colors in active preset.

How can I cut the green bar at the bottom half in size?

This is not just some kind of bar. This is Footer. You can disable this section in Helix optionss > Layout. But do not do this. Add copyrights there for example. Helix options > Basic > Footer.

Spend a little time studying Helix Options and read Helix documantation - this will save you from many questions.

Well just like that I took a break and came back to the computer and now the form submittion is working.

Still having the issue where when I hover the mouse pointer over the RESOURCES link on the top menu the drop down box has no text, or the font color is the same as the background color. I don't know how to fix this.

And just like that the form on the membership page stopped working again. Same error message as in my first post. I'll have to wait until Monday for support to help.

This is what I found out about the error I was getting while trying to submit a form built with SP pagebuilder. As long as I have "required fields" turned off on all fields I can click on the submit button all day long with no issues. When I turn on required field on any field I get an error saying a field is required, fill it out and try again. I can assure you all fields were filled out when I was tesing the form before. Otherwise it's working now and hopefully support at the company can look into this further. My site is not live yet, so it's not like there is a hurry..

Pavel's comment pointed me in the correct direction. I went into the Helix template presets and found a work around. For the template preset I first picked, the menu drop down background color was set by default to be the same as the font color, and I was not able to correct in the properties. I selected a different template preset and the dropdown background color is fine. I will probably end up setting up my desired colors in the custom settings area.

The form builder was still giving me problems in that it was buggy, sometimes working and sometimes not. I will probably end up using a google form page to achive our club's requirements.

I have been scouring docs online to try and resolve issues on my own. I've been using SP pagebuilder for just two days so the learning curve is great and there's still more to learn.
