Wrong Update Applied - Can I Revert?

I've mistakenly installed SPPB 5 over a site created with SPPB 3 and now can't access page content to edit - can I just install the latest 3 over the 5? I'd just stupidly saved both at the same time & didn't pay attention when I went to do the update! OR is it a case that SPPB has just totally changed the look & feel again & maybe I'm just needing to revert to my last update which seems to have been 4.0.10. I just found the fact that there are 2 different version updates confusing - I presume one is maybe the free version? I just prefer the way it looked before as I've got to a stage where so many extensions & Joomla itself have had so many updates my brain's overloaded.

The site's still working fine thankfully so I'm keen to not now do something that might change that but obviously need to be able to edit the info.

Site is at https://www.bloomfieldmethodist.org.uk/index.php

Joomla 4.3.2. SPPB - current 5.0.8.

Yes, we have written about that in our blog posts, probably you missed that.

In SPPB 5 we added back-end editor, but it still have front-end editor.

In each update we improve and fix some areas.

As you know, on forum I cannot rebuild/change component sourcecode.

Hi,

You have two options:

  1. Reinstall with SPPB Pro 3.8.10 (yes, still can be downloaded, just search by name)
  2. Ask hosting support for yesterday backup - they should have it. And recover whole website.

OR (1) + recover database from yesterday (hosting support have it).

Thanks Paul but I've just realised that 5 is the latest update so it's just that you've changed how it looks completely that's thrown me. Is there a way to have 5 look similar to the previous version i.e. on the fly editing where you can see exactly what the page will look like when editing, rather than having to keep doing Previews?

LOL - yeh I've a bad habit of not taking time to read blog posts sometimes! That's grand - I'll just have to spend a bit more time now figuring things out & continuing on. Pity as I really liked the previous version but all good things invariably change eventually.

Thanks Paul - appreciate the speedy feedback.
