Helix Ultimate To Update Helix 3?

Can I transfer (upgrade) a template from Helix Ultimate to Helix 3? The usual installation of Helix 3 did not solve anything. Or is it somehow not necessary otherwise? Or is this in principle not possible without coding? Yes or no?

Thank you!

Joomla 4.3.4 PHP - 8.1 mysqld Ver 8.0.34 template from Helix Ultimate

Hi there!

Thanks for contacting us.

The Helix Ultimate is the latest framework. So, Helix ultimate cannot be upgraded to Helix3. They are different in so many areas!

What's the issue actually that doesn't solve, please?

Best Regards

I just didn't find where to enter the Google Fonts API key. There are almost no fonts in the existing set that support extended Cyrillic. And I know for sure that Google has a huge number of such fonts.

But I don't find most of them in the existing set. Previously, when I could update fonts, I could easily find those fonts published in Google Fonts.

Why can't I enter my API anywhere? As a result, I just get a font update error. If this function does not provide for updating by a button, why is it needed there at all, what is the hidden meaning in it?

I'm reading your framework documentation. It has written a lot of everything, as it were, normally.

But in my template, I don’t have half of the functions at all. How can I understand?

If may...

My quick suggestions:

  1. If you used custom.css or Custom CSS inside Helix template - you still can use them, must be be manually copy&paste.
  2. Just looking at template #1 options make that same in template #2 settings.
  3. Then after all, uninstall not needed template and all plugins from it.

As Rashida said, those are TWO different templates, no one-click migration between them, even more so backwards.

Using Helix3 in 2023 of your own choosing - sorry, doesn't make sense. That template does not receive any new features, only emergency updates from time to time. Of course, you can use it and it will work, but you will probably have to change the template again in a year's time (as Joomla 5 will be). Your choice and your time.
