My Joomla global configuration has JCE as the default editor but SPPB 5.1.8 is using TinyMCE.

How can I change SPPB to use JCE editor?

I'm running SPPB Pro 5.1.9 and JCE 2.9.54 as my system editor on J3.10.12.

When I follow your guidance, I get an error page:

Please advise.

Allen, We tested on Joomla 4.4 and Joomla 5.0 for obvious reasons. J3.10 support ended in Sep 2023.

Tomorrow I can ask our developer, but for now all I can suggest is:

  1. Upgrade Joomla from 3.10 to 4.4.
  2. Or install SPPB 5.1.6 that used old method of editor request.

Thanks Paul.

Yeah, I was hamstrung in upgrading while I waited for my LMS developer to finally release a J4 update. Now I plan to upgrade with some downtime during the holidays.

Thanks for your feedback.

Good news, in next update SPPB 5.1.x we will correct that issue, but remember that legacy is not piority for us.

That's a big help, so THANKS!.

Updating our site to J4 is proving to be problematic, and it looks like I've going to have to devote significant time to it in December.

I'm already on SPPB 5.1.9, so I guess you mean the next version 5.1.10?

Can Joomshaper's compatibility with JCE be maintained? It is a very popular editor and, to some extent, a Joomla standard.

Currently, zooming works in the backend, but it causes an error when editing from the frontend:

Call to undefined method Joomla\CMS\Object\CMSObject::getButtonName() Call stack 1 () JROOT/plugins/system/helixultimate/overrides/layouts/joomla/editors/buttons/button.php:19 2 require() JROOT/templates/shaper_helixultimate/html/layouts/joomla/editors/buttons/button.php:11 ...

By now please delete those two mentioned files, it will be fixed in next Helix Ultimate update.

  1. templates/shaper_helixultimate/html/layouts/joomla/editors/buttons/button.php
  2. plugins/system/helixultimate/overrides/layouts/joomla/editors/buttons/button.php

Delete/Remove!
