our website password reset function is not sending a code as it states.

Hi Scott,

in general it's a Joomla core feature, not from template. But to be sure it's not a template issue somehow please DELETE/RENAME that folder:

templates\shaper_newskit\html\com_users\reset

after that, Joomla core file (code) will be used. Then check Reset again:

  • if will work keep your change
  • If will NOT work make research on forum.joomla.org

BTW

Joomla 3.x had problem with Reset link! I had similar cases last year, totally different templates.

Paul, I've tried this and going to joomla.org. Their solutions also did not work. Are you available for hire or know someone we can hire to fix this?

Not really.

But if you have only serveral users, you can cheat the system, and create extra Contact form module published under login area, that will send info to website administrator with request to reset password for somebody. But he/she has to do it manually. Not perfect, but ... no cost.

Unfortunately, that is already what we are doing and it takes more work than the admin is wanting to take care of. Thanks for the suggestion.
