SP Page Builder 5.x Upgrade: "Open In New Tab" is Removed

Dear SP Page Builder Team

I have noticed an interesting bug in upgrading from SPPB 3.x to 5.x: My first website has a number of links to external websites where I specify for every link to open in a new tab in a Text Box, and the upgrade from 3 to 5 retained that specification. The second website has more than a hundred images linking to other websites, and for the images the "Open in New Tab" specification has been removed.

This makes the upgrade extremely labour intensive, because I have to go through each and everyone manually to fix it.

Following on this are 28 more websites to upgrade, each with a variety of links which I do not know if it will bite me too. I do not look forward to this one.

  1. Are you aware of this bug?
  2. Do you have a fix for it, or something I can do before installing SPPB5 to prevent it?

Regards,

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this oversight. I need your assistance to see the issue. In this case, Can you share a screencast video and a site backup(Akeeba backup zip file) that contains page builder version 3.

I appreciate your cooperation and will be sure to get back to you as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Toufiqur Rahman (Team Lead, Support)

Dear Toufiq

Thank you for your reply. I made a short video of the problem, and I restored the J.V4.4.4 version of the one site to my development space and backed it up to ZIP for you. You can find links to them in the hidden space below.

Take care,

I see it gives an Error404, but I FTPd it again, replacing the old version, and it still does the same. Let me see what I can do.

Dear Toufiq

I have to remove the ZIP and MP4 files again. They make my backups quite large! :-)

I guess you have already saved it. It not, let me know and I can replace them later, but I first have to do backups now.

Take care,

Francois
