Mega Menu Issues

Hi,

I the menu in my main page is not working correctly on two instances:

I did choose as menu type the MegaMenu, and place the five menu items, with separators, in different columns. Yet on the desktop menu each separator shows up one under each other, and on hover the items under each menu, which should all be visible on a 5 column display, then show up.

Furthermore, the hamburger menu does not show up any arrow, nor does open up the submenu on click. Therefore, for mobile the submenu items do not "exist".

Please advice

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this oversight. Please ignore to use menu type seperator. Use link type URL > #.

Best regards,

Toufiqur Rahman (Team Lead, Support)

Could you kindly grant me access to your Joomla administrator area so that I can investigate the issue you're experiencing? Prior to providing access, please ensure that you have backed up your site. Additionally, it's important to note that providing login credentials is entirely voluntary on your part; we respect your decision either way. However, if you do choose to share the login details, it would greatly expedite the resolution process. Thank you for your cooperation.

Of course. You have already credentials from other occasions you have provided support. I am resending for reference.

On a side note, the same issue is happening on other menus with similar configuration accross the site. For each brand I have a specific menu, so solving the main menu issue hopefully would finalize the issue across the site.

And in the case of the Volkswagen menu there are typography issues as well, which can be checked later.

Thanks for your help.

Still not working.

It is kind of odd. Specially considering the menu element by its side does work correctly on the very same menu. For your reference, I did screenshot both front and admin side of the menu items I just mentioned.

One more detail that might be of relevance: The "Our Passenger Vehicles" menu element was initially created as a separator. I did just changed it into a URL type with "#" as link, without any chenge. The "Commercial Vehicles" menu element points to a SP Page Builder page.

Hope this helps.

Add new row with column

You are using Helix Ultimate Template. You shouldn't use Helix3.

Thanks

I see the menu is working. Thank you for your support. One question tho: if I enable MegaMenu on the admin side, I still have to make it active on the template style editor, like you showed me on screencaps? Just for me to know if that is the usual procedure. I thought that once I enter MegaMenu it would enable.

Thank you for all the help. Menu is now operational and it looks great

Oooohhh.... understood! I was not aware of that.

On that note, the first three menu items on the dropdown for "Our Passenger Vehicles" used to open a submenu, however now it kind of opens a thin strip on hover. Might that be because these items might have been created when the site was using Helix3?.

Thank you for the support Toufiq.

Perfect! Thanks for the link.

I guess the best option is to recreate the first three submenu elements so they are Helix Ultimate "native", therefore solving the submenu strip showing up. After all they try to behave like MegaMenu items, yet there is no option either on the menu options, or in the template style options, to "deactivate it".

Thanks once again Toufiq.

Toufiq,

Now that the menu is working, there is a new issue I see:

As you are on any of the pages on ther Hyundai section, for desktops the menu being shown is the menu selected on the template the off canvas menu (the hambiurger menu) shows up upon for mobile screens, the menu items are from the main menu on home page, not from the Hyundai menu, even after setting the Hyundai menu in the off-canvas section of the Menu tempate options. In fact, as a test I did select the logos to show on the off canvas, and the change took place on the system, but the items are still from the Main Menu.

Please advice, and sorry for the amount of work I'm placing on you for this case.

Rgds,

Rodney

I did answer, but I guess the replay did not go. There have been some connectivity issues on our side.

As per the answer, for each of the vehicle brand sections, the desktop menu should also be the one used in mobile. Therefore the Hyundai, Isuzu, Volkswagen, Leapmotor and GAC Motor menus are supposed to be visible on both desktop and mobile versions of their respective templates. That is not the case now, and even after refreshing cache on Joomla and my browser the main menu is still visible on mobile accross the site.

Also a weird coourrance: on the Hyundai menu, even if the lineup menu item (an # URL tye link) the only thing showing is a car icon. Is odd, isn't?

Rgds,

Rodney

Hi Toufiq,

I agree that Anydesk would be a better option. Let me know when we can connect, since I have no idea of your time zone. (My time zone: 4:00 GMT - Eastern USA)

At the point you messaged me was 3:00 am more or less in Aruba. As such, we seem to have a 12 hour difference. So you would have to connect around 8pm to 9pm so we can get connected, at which time I will also be beginning my working day at the offfice.

Hi Toufiq,

Maybe I can come in my office a little earlier tomorrow, since I work 8:00am to 5:30pm. I believe that if I get on my job early so I am by my computer by 7:30-7:40 am Aruba time that we can chat, since at that time it would be 5:30 - 5:40 pm Bangladesh time.

We can either do a zoom call and from there we can go into AnyDesk if you so feel necessary. I do understand the complexity of these systems so I appreciate the help you are providing me.

Let me know if the arrangement is ok with you.
