SP Page Builder 11 months ago

Im using the latest sp page builder and joomshaper template.

When i try to save or add content like uploading an image i get 403 Error Code When Saving A Page In SP Page Builder.

I have checked that rocket-loader is disabled and updated .htaccess with <IfModule mod_security.c> SecFilterEngine Off SecFilterScanPOST Off </IfModule>

however the issue still remains.

I would be grateful for urgent support and assitance as I desperately need to edit the site as it is live and cannot do that.

Appreciate your time and support!

Hi aicei,

Thank you for reaching out, and I am sorry for the inconvenience.

To resolve this promptly, could you kindly provide Joomla administrator access? This will help us investigate thoroughly. Please back up your site using Akeeba Backup before sharing credentials in hidden content.

Thank you for your cooperation and I’ll update you as soon as possible!

Best Regards

Hi Aicei,

I’ve checked your site on our local environment, and the editing works fine on both the frontend and backend. The issue might be related to your hosting provider.

Please refer to this troubleshooting guide: SP Page Builder Troubleshooting. Follow the steps starting from Step 4 (disable mod_security from cPanel).

If the problem persists after trying this, please let me know.

Note: Your frontend editor is functioning correctly.

Hii Asfakur,

thanks for your time and feedback its much appreciated.

I have checked from the hosting side and also spoken to support who believe the issue lies with the extension.

Im including the reply below for your review please.

“Upon reviewing your case in detail, I have gathered some insights that I believe will be helpful. In my thorough examination of the server PHP error logs and our Apache access logs, I observed that the 403 error you are encountering appears to be generated by the application itself rather than the server, as there is no record of it in the logs. This indicates that the error is internally generated within the application. Unfortunately, the specific cause of the error was not recorded, which complicates the debugging process. This type of issue is typically best addressed by the developers of the Joomla extension you are using, as they would have the necessary insight and expertise.”

your support and help in resolving this will be much appreciated.

Hi dear Aicei,

We've successfully tested your site on our development server, and it's functioning correctly. You can verify this through the hidden content section.

The issue you're experiencing may be related to the .htaccess file. Suggested solution: Enable JavaScript and cookies to proceed.

We attempted to edit the.htaccess file, but access was restricted. Kindly reconfigure the file or provide us with your cPanel access through the hidden content section.

Dear Aicei,

Congratulations! Your issue has been successfully resolved.

Here’s a summary of the actions I took to address the problem:

  1. Updated specific PHP configurations.
  2. Cleared the host cache to ensure changes took effect.
  3. Made adjustments to the .htaccess file.
  4. Tested the site backup on a staging server within your cPanel.

After these steps, the issue was resolved. Kindly review the site now and let me know if everything works as expected.

Best regards

PLease note im getting the same error 403 from the test page you have created which i encountered while trying to edit it and other pages. I have tried to attach a screenshot here but it does not allow.

If u login to joomla backend using hidden content credentials you will note the issue is still there unfortunately.

Why am i still experiencing same issue? are there any steps I should take from my side?

Thanks again and best regards!!

Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm not sure why the issue resolved then afther those changes.

Aside from the previous changes, I also uninstalled and reinstalled SP Page Builder. The issue seems to be resolved now.

Hi,

I solve more problems like this, make changes in .htaccess adding controls over modsecurity.

<IfModule security2_module> SecRuleRemoveById 210 941160 941100</IfModule>

You can see the codes 210 or any others into log of apache errors.

Hi Asfakur Rahman Saikat,

It is surprising that it only works on your end, both the builder and the template cannot be saved since we used Cloudflare and every effort to fix it has proven abortive.

We really need this fix because it is affecting a lot of things on the website since we cannot update any of the pages.

Your urgent and lasting solution will be highly appreciated.

Since your server is powered by Cloudflare, disabling Rocket Loader may help resolve the issue. Could you please try that once.

Dear Aicei,

Thank you for your patience. I’ve reviewed your hosting/site again. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any option in your hosting provider to disable ModSecurity. Could you please contact them to temporarily disable it?

Best regards.

hii,

Thanks I habe already contacted them to disable it while back and habe contacted them again today for updated response which im sharing your review below.

"I was able to replicate the error on my end. Typically, such errors generate entries in our firewall log file, indicating why the request was blocked. However, I did not find any relevant logs, which is why I requested your personal IP address for further investigation at first. Additionally, I tested disabling the entire firewall for your domain and attempted to make a change, but this did not resolve the issue. It appears that these requests are not being intercepted or blocked by our firewall. Consequently, I have re-enabled the firewall protection, as it is a vital security layer for your website. This issue may be originating from the plugin itself. I recommend contacting SP Page Builder support for further assistance. Please inform them that the server firewall was disabled, yet the issue persists. They should be able to provide additional guidance. If they identify any server-side requirements, please let us know, and we will be happy to assist to the best of our ability. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."

appreciaite your time and support and looking forward to a solution.

Dear Aicei,

We will inform you promptly once your issue has been resolved.

Could you confirm if you have any browser extensions that might be causing the issue? When I installed and tested it, everything worked fine, and I couldn't replicate the problem after installing but sometimes later it appeared. Do you have any insight into what might be causing this discrepancy?

edited: Additionally, please check for any discrepancies between your hosting environment and the SP Page Builder technical requirements outlined here. https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/technical-requirements

Dear Asfakur,

Thanks for your support and efforts in trying to resolve this issue.

Yes I do have some chrome extensions but usually for testing I use the incognito tab and make sure the extensions are disabled. Also i have test and received the same error on other browsers like edge, opera both in private browsing mode and normally.

The error is still there as you have mentioned nad yes pagebuilder only works only temporarirly after reinstallation then the issue appears again.

I have double-checked it hosting specifications meet all the requirements and no discrepencies present.

Additionally, can confirm that agro_routing and rocket_loader have not been enabled since beginging.

Looking forward to a permanent solution as soon as possible.

Thanks again

Dear Aicei,

Thank you for your patience. I’ve created a subdomain on your hosting account for a fresh Joomla installation. However, it’s not live yet and may take some time to propagate.

In this new setup, I’ll install SP Page Builder (SPPB) and investigate whether the issues persist. The primary goal is to verify if SPPB works properly on your hosting platform with a clean Joomla installation.

If I’ve overlooked anything, feel free to share your input. I appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Dear Aicei,

The development team has carefully investigated the issue you reported. They have provided the following message for your consideration:

The issue might be related to your Cloudflare firewall rules. If the page save request contains modified JSON data in the request payload, Cloudflare may interpret it as unauthorized or malicious, blocking the request and preventing the page from saving the new content. It is possible that specific rules applied in the Cloudflare firewall are causing this issue.

We kindly request that you coordinate with Cloudflare regarding this matter. Please keep us updated on any progress or resolutions.

Best regards

Dear Asafakur,

Cloudflare has been double-checked no issue with the settings WAF turned off as well agro-routing and rocket-loader.

However, after reinstalling the update through joomla update component and monitoring for few days I can confirm the issue seems to be temporarily resolved and hopefully permananently. The issue was with joomshaper not cloudflare or hosting.

I will revert back to you in case of any future tecnicial difficulties.

Thanks again for your support, time and efforts!

Dear Aicei,

I’m glad to hear that your issue has been resolved temporarily and hope it remains resolved permanently.

Last week, I reviewed a project hosted on SiteGround, where the Page Builder was functioning correctly. During this process, I also cross-checked several environment variables, which led me to conclude that the issue is unlikely to be related to SiteGround or Cloudflare. Instead, it may be linked to specific environment settings or others.

If the resolution holds, it’s a positive outcome for both of us. However, please don’t hesitate to reach out if further assistance is needed.

Best regards
