Shapper Floox - Template Bug

Hi again,

As mentioned on my previous tickets, and regarding the last one open here: https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/37076

We have a problem on our template using the articles scroller: They have a image and it was uploaded correctly in each article, but for some reason, it always breaks at some point the link to the image with no reason, and without any action from us. Its a bug that was reported almost 3 months ago and its still there, without a solution.

In the past it was opened already several tickets, and here in the support, was said in a first time that was something related with some string, then that it was related with the name, because it was very big, now it has always one single word, and its still happening.

In fact the problem is:

  • the article feature image is not working - If you saw in the image feature section, the images are there, and link too, but the image its broken.
  • also sometimes when we apply them to the articles, even the dimensions (height) everytime is different, what looks strange beaviour when the images are all set on the same sizes

Regardging the feedback already recieved:

  • The images are not deleted (as it was already mentioned), but for some reason, that featured image lost or break the link to the image that is there
  • What was already suggested on last tickects, Is what we've been doing in the past months, manualy, re-uploading the images for all the articles, but sorry this is not a solution. Note that we have more thant 650 articles, and this is total time waste for us, and creates a bad impression because we have this component on the homepage.
  • We are using a template but also using the sp page builder and the componente article scroller, that should be compatible and usable in any template, so I cant understand why is this happening.

I will wait for your feedback

Regards,

Hi Joao Taveira,

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have discussed your issue with our senior team member, and it seems that the Featured Image is somehow being missed.

For now, I have a question for you: Are you facing this issue only with this template?

We are actively working on your issue, and hopefully, you will receive a helpful response soon.

Best regards

Hi again Asfakur,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, just on this template and in this project.

In fact I've use this template in other projects but I didn't get this problem because we haven't this need to get the article scroller active.

Ok, I'll apreciate, thanks again for your feedback, we will wait

Regards, Luis

Hi Joao Taveira,

After a careful investigation, we have identified the issue affecting the Article Scroller addon:

  1. The addon first checks for a featured image in the Blog Images section. If no valid featured image is found, it then falls back to the intro image of the article.
  2. If the featured image link is broken, no image will be displayed in both the Article Scroller and Blog List View.
  3. We have cleared the broken featured images for the affected articles https://prnt.sc/ArwbKBrTAT6h, and now the images are correctly pulled from the article intro image https://prnt.sc/nCIUIR6ELv4k
  4. If no featured image is set, please ensure the post format is set to Standard https://prnt.sc/ArwbKBrTAT6h. Otherwise, the images won’t appear as expected.

Final Recommendation:Use the Intro Image instead of the Blog Image, ensuring that the Blog Image is cleared and the Post Format is set to Standard.

If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out.

Best regards

Hi again Asfakur

Thanks for your help, comments and considerations. After read carefuly, we still have 2 doubts:

  1. When you say that we can ignore the featured image, he will find the image of the article (the intro one), you are referring to this part:https://ibb.co/DrRtcwN? Because we have it on all our articles, due to open graph issues on facebook for example (If we dont put anything there, the image will not be charged on facebook shared link), so for that reason we should not have any issue like this on the other old article
  2. The image link broken is the main topic of our tickets, and they occour without any reason or action from us. We cant understand why is that happening at all. Your colleagues suggested the issues related with the name of the images, we turn the names just one word and the problem was the same.

Next week I will be uploading a lot of articles so I will test all this

I will wait for your feedback

Hi there, I read your response and also discussed the matter with our senior.

Please follow these steps moving forward:

  1. When uploading new articles, continue using the previous suggestion for image naming—keep it in plain English, even for single-word names.
  2. Keep track of the new article IDs. If the feature image breaks (gets deleted) again, we will investigate further.
  3. I personally noticed that feature images with broken links are not found in the images directory under the expected name.

Best regards
