Uploading Files With Same Name

Hello.

I notice if I upload an image and try overwriting it with an updated image with the same name, it still loads the original. I can only get away with renaming the newest image with a different name. Is there something I should be doing?

Here are some findings for your reference:

  1. When you upload an image with a duplicate name, SP Page Builder's Media Manager automatically renames it by adding a suffix (e.g., -2). This prevents duplicate files from being created.
  2. If you rename an image directly through the Media Manager with an existing name, one of the files may be automatically deleted. To avoid this, please refrain from renaming images directly within the Media Manager to a duplicate name.
  3. Occasionally, caching issues (host cache, browser cache, or Joomla cache) can contribute to unexpected behavior.

Final Note: To prevent any issues, please avoid renaming images to duplicate names directly in the Sp Page builder Media Manager.
