Template Error And Questions Updateing Site

Hello,

I have a problem with updating my old site which I'm trying to upgrade.

https://www.rubouwdesign.nl/ (set to debug mode, certificate is expired)

Currently I am running Joomla 4.2.9 on my Synology with PHP 8.0.30. According to Synology I can not run a higher version at the moment.

I renewd my licence with Joomshaper. Curently I am running:

Helix Ultimate 2.0.11 SP Pagebuilder Pro 4.0.7 SP Simple Portfolio SP Easy Image Gallery Decora template 1.0

The site currently gives an 500 error: in /volume1/web_packages/joomla/templates/decora/error.php (line 49)

I can still acces my backend, so I was thinking of first updating my site.

I backed up my site with Akeeba backup core.

I added my new licence details as mentioned on your site https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/joomla-templates/decora/template-update

I have several questions on updating:

  1. Does my Joomla version 4.2.9 and PHP8.0.30 support the latest Joomshaper files? (com_sppagebuilder_pro_v5.5.2, decora_template (v2.0.1), plg_system_helixultimate_v2.1.2, helixultimate_template_v2.1.2 (do I install this also?))
  2. Does updating the template change my layout of the site? My site isn't the exact same layout as the Original template. Or should I not update my template file?
  3. In what order do install these new components?
  4. I would think updating the template would be done with System/Update Sites or System/Site template Styles, but I can't find an update option. How do I install a new template?
  5. Do I install the new Joomshaper files using System/Install/Extensions? If I try System/Update/Extensions it doesn't find an update. How do I install these new files?

Thanks for helping. I hope these updates will get my site working again. If you have any other suggestions relating to this error, they are welcome.

The line 49 is:

Apologies for the delayed response due to the weekend.

Regarding your update process:

  1. While your current PHP version (8.0.30) supports some extensions, SP Page Builder 5.5.2 requires at least PHP 8.1.

  2. Updating the template will not alter your site’s layout unless you have made modifications to the core template files.

  3. You can install the updates in any order, but it is recommended to back up your site before proceeding.

  4. If the update option is not available in System > Update Sites, you can manually download the latest version from JoomShaper and install it via System > Install > Extensions.

  5. The same applies to SP Page Builder and Helix Ultimate—if no updates are found, install them manually through the Extension Installer.

Regarding the 500 error in /templates/decora/error.php (line 49), please provide administrator access so we can investigate further.

Thanks for helping.

Some further remarks and questions.

  1. What is the latest SP Pagebuilder version that works with PHP 8.0.30? The requirements are not mentioned on the download page. As Synology does not support PHP 8.1 or higher yet. So I will have to keep working with PHP8.0.30 for a while.
  2. So what are the lates versions of
  • SP Pagebuilder
  • Helix Ultimate
  • SP Simple Portfolio
  • SP Easy Image Gallery
  • Decora template

that I can install with Joomla 4.2.9 with PHP 8.0.30?

I will try updateing first. Then, if that doesn't solve the error, I wil contact you with admin settings to see if you can find out what the error is.

You can continue using Joomla 4.2.9 with PHP 8.0.30. For compatibility, I recommend the following versions:

SP Page Builder: 5.4.6 (latest version compatible with PHP 8.0)

  • Helix Ultimate: Latest available version
  • SP Simple Portfolio: Latest available version
  • SP Easy Image Gallery: Latest available version
  • Decora Template: Latest available version

Once you've completed the updates, if the error persists, feel free to share admin access, and I’ll take a closer look.
