Hello, i am working on another pager with colums and inside text and pictures.

Some output is ok - but on some of theose pictures i have the situation, that the picrure seems to be smalle than the frame - the space, the picture is inside.

As i use a box-shadow around the picture, i can see, the picture does not fill the box - so i have a white area. It seems to be the background, as i see the colour of the background, if i set one.

Please check this page - also with different decvices ...

In the Area "Meister ihres Faches, the picture on right - the white area is on bottom. Also on the other ones - but not all - i checked all settings several times, comparised all settings, but i have no more idea, what is reason of this fail ... But if i m on another browser, the white area is on right ... i dont have any idea, what is reason.

I remeber, there was any setting - called like "fill" or something similar - but i did not find again or made a fail in case of correct setting.

Thank you for investigating and giving me feedback. Thank you! Best Frank

Hi Frank,

For Image addon there is no magic resize button. Only if you would use image as column background there is option to use background-size: cover

If from the client you got too small photos - you have two options:

  1. Ask them for bigger ones (1024px width or wider)
  2. Use Online AI Photo resizer and make current photos 2x bigger (for example, https://www.pixelcut.ai/t/upscaler ) , then upload & choose them again. Before you can also crop them a little bit to remove some top and bottom, for better fit.

Yes, there is CSS: object-fit: fill; and object-fit: cover;

https://www.w3schools.com/csS/css3_object-fit.asp

but probably it will not help in your case.

Thank you Paul, i increased the size of the pictures ... now it is all ok... i thought, the system will automatically fit the corret size - as other pictures also fit in smaller sizes automatically.

We added Object-fit feature to Image addon in SPPB 5.5.3 (upcoming) , but in your case bigger photos are better solution.

You can use .webp as well, not only .jpg.
