SP Simple Portfolio Settings And Styling

I am building a site for a business to launch next week on the blank helix ultimate template and I have been attempting to use simple portfolio to display and organise over 30 different styles of a product in one category, and was surprised to learn the limitations when it comes to options/modifying settings in both the component and the module.

I set up six items in the category to test things which can be seen here: https://wallhaus.au/index.php?option=com_sppagebuilder&view=page&id=15

The core functionality of the display of images, the lightbox, and the filtering and subsequent mixing with the tags is outstanding.

But it doesn't make any sense to me how limited the user is in terms of styling, and no matter how much custom css or javascript I attempt to use (spending nearly a full day on it) I cannot override the components settings.

For example, it makes little sense to me to display the tags associated with an item on the image overlay. I would imagine most people would prefer not to display the tags here yet there is no option to hide them (and the custom css to hide tags and date etc is only for the components item page, not for the overlay).

Second, and importantly, I need to be able to have a custom url for the view link on the image overlay as I have product pages for each of these styles built in pagebuilder that the user needs to be directed to, and relaying a customer via a detour to the components item page and then expecting them to click again is just not acceptable.

Third, and less important but nonetheless something that should be available, there are no options for styling the tag/filter buttons at all, and again custom css and javascript I have tried cannot override this styling.

And finally, and this one might be going too far, but the image display should also have options. Overlay colour & opacity for example.

All these things styling limitations are puzzling when this is a Joomshaper extension and these styling options like image overlays, button styling etc is already native.

Makes me feel like I must be missing something.

This is an example of the core setup of a product page, and we will have more addons and content to include as well. https://wallhaus.au/index.php/products/the-fontus-range/isla-terrazzo

Priority question, how do I get the view link on the portfolio item overlay to direct to a pagebuilder page like those I have built all these products?

Simple Portfolio works so well, but its usefulness is severley limited without custom links and styling options.

Hi there,

Please note that Simple Portfolio is a free extension, so advanced features or customizations need to be handled on your own.

Since if you're using SP Page Builder, we recommend using the Dynamic Content or Image addon to build a more flexible and visually rich portfolio. It gives you full control over styling and custom links without the limitations of Simple Portfolio.

Thanks for the response. I ended up resolving this with an override.
