Page Slow With Megamenu

Hello,

I am developing a website with the template AppSteam. When the megamenu is enabled, and I am using modules build with pagebuilder in the megamenu, the website becomes noticible slow. It takes about 4 to 5 seonds to load. The images in the modules are small, about 28 kB, so I don't think that is the issue. I didn't use any custom css.

When I create aother menu (NOT mega menu) and use the same template AppStream (a copy ofcourse) the website loads much faste. Just below one second.

Website Slow: https://www.zg-telecom.nl/nieuw/home Website Fast(er): https://www.zg-telecom.nl/nieuw/home-test

I don't know why this is happening? Any ideas?

Regards, Peter

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this oversight. You have loaded three module of Page Builder inside the mega menu and each item image size is 25kb. Total number of images are 10 and 25X10=250kb.

Best regards,

Toufiqur Rahman (Team Lead, Support)

Hello Toufiqur,

yes, only 250Kb. This shouldn't slow down the website!? I think there is something else going on.

Regards, Peter

Yes, I use SP Page builder modules.

Is this wrong? Is there another solution to "shape" the megamenu? In the website from joomshaper.com there is also a megamenu. How did you create this?

Kind Regards, Peter

I didn't mean that you can't use the module of Page Builder. I want to tell you that, if you load couple of modules on your page then it tooks time to load (It's normal) behavior. If you remove the module it will decrease the loading time.

Imagine you're trying to lift a 5kg weight and a 1kg weight. Which one would be easier? I hope that makes sense.
