SPPB Frontend Editor Gives A 503 Error

I'm having a problem with the frontend editor. When I try to use it, I get a message: "503 - Service Unavailable - The server is temporarily busy, try again later!" The backend editor runs fine. My server is using LiteSpeed. I have PHP memory limit at 512MB. I saw whwere some had problems with the JCE editor so I disabled it, but it didn't help.
Do you have any suggestions that I can try to get this working?
I typically don't use the frontend editor, but that's the only way I can edit animations.
