Hi,

There is a Preloader feature on Helix Ultimate. I just want to suggest better UX for this. Can we make it rightaway show the loading preloader when user click on something. Because right now, when i click on something, the page seems just freezing, but its actually loading on background. But from user perspective, people would think why this website not responding when i click? Then user try to click many times. I remember back then Helix preloader works that way, why change it now?

Steve Jobs once makes a statement about something similar with this UX. How to make user feel the iOS intuitive and responsive.

Hi Yofie,

To be honest 90% of websites do not need preloader. Google Page Speed tool don't like it too. My advice is - disable that, and let the site load without extras.

Hi Paul,

Well then you know what i mean if we are talking about UX, after user click on something, and nothing happen (actually loading on background), its not a good user experience, especially on mobile when you cant see any loading progress, on desktop you can still loading progress happen on browser title bar. I rather let the user see the preloader right away. I'm working on a dynamic content that load hundreds data set per load, it works, but unfortunately kinda slow. Asking team to improve the dynamic content page load seems more difficult than letting the preloader shown right away after click.

Since the preloader feature still there on Helix Ultimate configuration tools. I was thinking why not just make it works in better UX.

With dynamic content indeed, it may be needed. For now, I suggest to find alternative preloader plugin. We can back to that topic in November, okay.
