Sorry for the inconvenience. This feature functions similarly to the previous version. The "filtering" mentioned refers to dynamic content frontend filtering.

Previously, filtering collections based on single or multiple reference items wasn't possible. With this update, you can now include single or multiple reference items in frontend filtering.

However, there are still some limitations. For example, displaying the title of reference or multi-reference items in the filter options isn't currently supported. This improvement is planned for a future update.
