EasyStore Roadmap

EasyStore 1 week ago

Over the last 12 - 18 months Joomshaper have repeatedly been asked to publish an EasyStore roadmap, detailing what features are being planned and worked on.

JoomShaper have repeatedly said they'll publish this roadmap, yet they've so far failed to do so; and the remaining significant missing features in EasyStore go ignored, usually with a terse "we don't support that" answer.

SO - once again - JoomShaper - if you want EasyStore to succeed, PLEASE publish a roadmap for EasyStore. Include what features you are working on; and be open to suggestions from your customers (who pay your salary at the end of the day) as to which missing features need to be added to EasyStore.

Finally - stick to that roadmap!

Hello Stuart Clark,

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for being so invested in EasyStore’s development. We truly appreciate your continued interest and the time you’ve taken to express your thoughts.

We completely understand your concern regarding the roadmap. Your request for transparency and feature visibility is valid, and we want you to know that our team is actively discussing ways to make our development process more open and predictable for our users.

While we haven’t yet published a public roadmap, our development team has been continuously working on stability improvements, new integrations, and user-requested features for upcoming updates. We also regularly review customer suggestions to help shape our priorities.

However, comments such as “who pay your salary at the end of the day” are not appropriate or respectful. Our team is committed to delivering quality products and support for all users, and we believe mutual respect is essential in maintaining a constructive conversation.

Thank you again for your patience, trust, and for being part of the EasyStore community.

Best regards

Noted, that comment may be inflamatory, but, as a customer, I have been waiting for over a year for EasyStore to become a stable, usable product which can be put to use in a production website.

Unfortunately, at the moment, there are still SIGNIFICANT missing features, making EasyStore fairly useless for myself and for many other users!

There was a comment from someone in JoomShaper a few months ago to the effect of "at least we're developing an ecommerce option" ... well yes, but if it is not usable as a production store then that development isn't going to satisfy any customer.

If JoomShaper want to retain my custom in the coming year, the product will need to improve significantly. Otherwise I'll simply revert to using a mature product such as EShop!

Thank you for your follow-up message and for clarifying your earlier comment. We understand your frustration and appreciate your honesty in sharing your experience.

EasyStore is indeed an ongoing project, and our team continues to improve it through regular updates, addressing stability, functionality, and performance. Developing a full-featured eCommerce extension from the ground up takes time, especially while ensuring compatibility and long-term maintainability within Joomla’s evolving ecosystem.

We fully acknowledge that some features you and others consider essential are still under development. Your feedback helps us refine priorities, and it has been shared directly with our product team for further review.

Thank you for your patience and continued engagement.

Thank you for your answer. The issue is that once you have received customer feedback and it "has been shared directly with our product team for further review" it enters a black hole.

  • There's no published acknowledgement of what the product team deem a missing feature
  • There's no published list of what the product team are working on
  • There's no published list of what bugs are being resolved

This means that customers are left in the lurch either to continue to pay yearly fees in the HOPE that a particular feature / bug gets addressed, or at some point decide that they're going to cut their losses and move to a rival, stable, mature product, which offers FAR greater features.

Those products include: EShop, Hikashop and Virtuemart - all of which are still in active development!

I completely understand your concern regarding development visibility and the desire for a published roadmap. While I appreciate comparisons to other Joomla eCommerce extensions, I would kindly ask you to share the public roadmap links of the products you mentioned — EShop, Hikashop, or VirtueMart — if they have any currently available. Having these references, I will share it with the development team and push the request further.
