Top Bar Colour Won't Update In Helix Template

Fresh install of helix template, but top bar colour will not update

The top bar is set with the default CSS:

sp-top-bar { background: #333; However the template sets: --sppb-topbar-bg-color: #396cf0;

Looks like an oversight in naming convention.

Hi

Thanks for contacting us. You can use this CSS in your custom.css file

#sp-top-bar {
    background: #393cf0 !important;
    color: #aaa;
}

And you can set the color that you want to set.

You can also change the color from template settings, here:

-Regards.

Yes, but what is the point then of having the top bar colour selector in the helix template options?

Looks like a bug to me, as changing the top bar colour does nothing in the backend template selector..

Did you try it from template settings? It should work. If you need any further help, please keep a full site backup and give me your super admin access so that I can check.

Yes set it from the admin template settings. You can see it on my site link sent in the private comment section.

The admin helix interfaces sets: --sppb-topbar-bg-color:

The helix template uses:

sp-top-bar

It is a fresh template install, other people also reported this previously

Have you read my comment?

Yes I can manually edit CSS files, however this beat the whole point of having templates with backend configuration interfaces.

So the official instruction is that the top bar colour can not be set using the "top bar" colour setting in the helix administrator interfaces?

Therefore the only way to change is to manually edit CSS files?

Looks to me as a simple programming error where the template uses a different name to compared to the backend configuration

Marius

Hi

In my end, "top bar" colour setting in the helix administrator interfaces works. You can change the color from template settings, here:

Ok got it. I will inform our team about it. In the meantime you can solve it via custom CSS.
