Unable To View Or Add Images In Content > Media

Hi - I don't know if you can assist me please but I am seeing an error on my site which is also preventing me from being able to view or add any of the images in Content > Media.

Warning : Cannot redeclare class joomla\cms\filesystem\file (previously declared in /libraries/vendor/joomla/filesystem/src/File.php:19) in /libraries/loader.php on line 576

I fully apppreciate this looks more like a general Joomla error, as opposed to being specific to Page Builder, but I am asking because I used your Joomla 6 Quickstart package.

I have updated Joomla from 6 to 6.1.1 and cleared cache but the problem remains.

I'm really hoping I don't have to start again from scratch with a clean install.

I have added a new Super User and included the details in the hidden content box below.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Many thanks, Mike

yes, it would be painful to start from "zero". You're welcome.

Hi Mike,

please ask on forum.joomla.org. We cannot solve Joomla core or other extensions problems here.

Disable all extra installed plugins, and then check, if will be OK, enable them one by one.

Found it.... :)

The problem was caused by Widgetkit (YOOtheme) extension. When I disable it, no error messages anymore. You own me pizza, hahaha, on next JoomlaDay 2026.

Thanks for the reply Paul. I did a clean and installed the components I use one by one and I found the culprit. it is being caused by Widgetkit (Yootheme). The error shows immediately on install as does the loss of Content > Media access.

when I unistall Widgetkit the error goes away and Media access returns.

i have posted a Support request with themselves.

just glad I don't need to start again from scratch.
