Issue Deleting Image From Blog Media Tab In Newsberg Template / Joomla 6

Good evening,

I would like your assistance with an issue I am facing while creating a new website.

The website is being built using the Newsberg template with Joomla 6 CMS.

The problem I am experiencing concerns the deletion of an image when creating a new article, as well as when editing an existing article, from the Blog Media tab. The system returns the message “Delete failed.”

The process fails even when the new article I am creating has not yet been saved and I simply want to change the image.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Good evening,

Unfortunately, the problem still persists. The only difference now is that, if I have not yet saved the article, I am able to remove the Featured Image from the Blog Media tab.

However, once the article has been saved, if I try to remove the Featured Image in order to replace it with another one, the system returns the following error:

“Delete failed.”

While carrying out further tests, I also noticed another unusual system behaviour.

In the Images and Links tab, I select an image for the Intro Image and another image for the Full Article Image, and then save the article. Everything works correctly at this stage.

However, when I reopen the article and remove both images, the process is completed without displaying any error. Nevertheless, when I view the article on the website, the deleted images are still displayed.

Even more strangely, if I then select two new images as the Intro Image and Full Article Image and save the article again, everything appears to work correctly. However, when I view the article, the previously deleted images are still displayed instead of the newly selected ones.

It is clear that something is not working correctly.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry for the inconvenience and for the delayed response over the weekend.

Would it be possible for me to take a full backup of your website? I'd like to investigate the issue on my local environment to identify the cause and provide a proper solution.

Good morning,

The website is brand new and was installed using the default quickstart package newsberg_quickstart_j6_v2.0.3.zip. Since I am still exploring the new website, I deleted it and performed a fresh installation. I noted the versions of its main components:

Joomla 6.0.4 Helix Ultimate Framework 2.2.4 SP Page Builder 6.3.2 Everything works perfectly... but there is one issue.

The system reports the following available updates:

Joomla 6.1.2 Helix Ultimate Framework 2.2.9 SP Page Builder 6.6.2 Moreover, upgrading Joomla from 6.0.4 to 6.1.2 requires upgrading the Helix Ultimate Framework from version 2.2.4 to 2.2.9 due to compatibility requirements.

However, once I install the necessary updates, all the problems begin.

So my questions are:

Should we simply stay with the original versions of the core components and ignore the available updates? I don't think this is the safest long-term approach. Is it likely that the issues introduced by these updates will be resolved in future releases? Or should we start looking for a different template, even though we may encounter similar compatibility issues there as well? Thank you very much for your time. I would greatly appreciate your advice on how you recommend proceeding.
