Properly Updating Helix3 And Helix Ultimate Templates

hi

I have updated all my websites to the latest versions. I use the Helix3 and Helix Ultimate templates, and lately, you have been updating them frequently. Okay, so I install the update (incidentally, the update server is often inaccessible, forcing me to download the files from my account on your site, which isn't very convenient). Furthermore, after the update, the styling on both templates breaks, and I have to reconfigure the styles. This is very tedious. So, I have two questions:

  1. How can I fix the connection to the update server?
  2. How can I ensure that the site's styling isn't wiped out after updating the templates?

Hi Denis,

Thank you for reaching out.

Regarding the update server, if you're experiencing connection issues, please try downloading the latest template package manually from your JoomShaper account and install it via Extensions → Install. In some cases, Cloudflare may temporarily block requests due to heavy traffic on our servers, which can temporarily affect access to the update server.

Regarding the styling issue, if your changes were made directly to the template files without creating template overrides, those changes can be overwritten when installing a new version of the template.

However, custom styles added through the template settings or Custom CSS should not be reset during a normal update. Could you please create a simple custom style, install the template again, and let us know whether the style is removed afterward?

This will help us determine where the issue is coming from and investigate it further.

Best Regards,

hi Ziaul

Yes, creating custom CSS solves my problem; I tested it, and it works.

Thanks
