Multiple Problems After J3-j4 Migration, For Overloaded Items

Helix Framework 4 years ago

Hello,

I just migrated a site to joomla 4. everything works fine but the layout is broken. I followed the tutorial https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/helix-framework/helix-ultimate-2/template-views-override to move shaper_helixultimate/html/com_content/article/alterweb.info.php => shaper_helixultimate/overrides/com_content/article/alterweb.info.php I declared it in a hidden menu in the main menu As you can see on the 2 sites:

joomla 3: www.alterweb.info/fr/site-web/dialogues-en-humanite
joomla 4: j4.alterweb.info/fr/site-web/dialogues-en-humanite On the latter, the override of the article page does not appear, it appears "home unused" and the image is huge. I think it comes from Helix because I have not touched anything else. How to have the same layout ?

Regards

HI, Sorry but I don't quite understand your questions! I made this migration a long time ago and I don't touch the site anymore while waiting for your support If it's about the reappearance of the econa image, it's a button in the article settings of the joomla cms.

I was talking about removing the custom fields econa but for the moment it is not current. I'm just looking for a similarity between joomla 4 and joomla 3! 1/ to see the overload of the article in order to visualize the custom fileds like on other sites 2/ To have exactly the same layout (see the article on both sites), without the term at the top "Home NON UTILISE", ... the category of the article !?....
Strange

Regards

Extension override works both way's. But, There has some difference.

If you override your extension inside the shaper_helixultimate/html/ then it will reset after template update & if you override your extension shaper_helixultimate/override/ then it will not reset after Template update. Besides, We didn't added this type of file (alterweb.info.php) on Helix Ultimate.

shaper_helixultimate/html/com_content/article/alterweb.info.php

-Thanks

Of course you did not add this. It's an overload that is a standard feature and that I have made work properly under helix ultimate or other joomla 3.x framework If I ask for an external competent opinion, it is because it is strange. You have intervened, a few weeks ago, on the site clibre.eu under joomla 4 which does not have this problem! Given the time of difficulty on this topic, I would like you to do or tell me what to do?

Sorry to say that, It's not possible to do customization from our end. Cause, customization support is fully prohibited by our support policy. I hope you will understand. Thanks

No I do NOT understand at all This is not customization, since it works correctly in some cases; it's just an enlightened and competent opinion. If I can't migrate this site, as it is. I will remember it! You have asked me to put a positive review on another product in the EDD, which is also not very compliant with the regulations. It's up to you Not only will I not put a positive review, but I will give a negative review every time I have the opportunity to express myself on this subject in different forums where I am very active. What shocks me the most is that I have been making a request for weeks (as you have seen) and that you allow yourself to give me this answer. Hoping for your understanding of course

Thank you so much for your feedback. We didn't create or modified this file (alterweb.info.php). So, How we are the responsible?

You are not responsible for this file.

That's right but you didn't tell me which part of this file is responsible for all these problems? You intervened on another site https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/8391 where I have exactly the same type of files and which functions well! I tell you, unless I am seriously mistaken, I have already migrated sites joomla 3 to joomla 4 (helix ultimate) without worries.

What I blame you (not you in particular whose professionalism I respect) is that I have been waiting for 1 month, a help https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/7799 Each time, I answer the questions and I do what I am asked. It is this refusal after a long delay that makes me angry.

Maybe it's not a Helix related problem but since this summer, I have noticed several problems that have been solved either by you or by a new release.

If you would explain me how the problems (no display of custom fields, no category displayed, "home not used ...) come from my sure way of this file overload, I would understand better.

Please check now and don't create a forum post for the customization.

First of all, thank you I reiterate that I respect the fact that I don't ask for customization. I wait in this case (it already happened). It is an error line xyz of your php file or I cannot intervene.

In this particular case, I recall the strangeness that a very similar file as you found would have worked well on another site joomla 3 / joomla 4!

Independent of what I say above, I also appreciate (or I would appreciate) if you are on an exchange on a subject for several weeks that an exceptional help is given because of this expectation (or I think always get help)

I will continue to use Helix Ultimate and SPPB which seem to me to be good extensions, even if I think there were still some difficulties with custom fields. Maybe we'll have to wait for a clarification on this point and especially on your own non-standard overloads!

I guess you think you're done. Nevertheless, there were also these 2 strange aspects (that I did not generate):. Why is there this "home not used" display and the category missing!?

It's almost good because the category title is missing! The parameter "Category title" in Articles: settings/articles (or in menu link) is activated though.

  • I have the impression that you have solved the problem by using a new file templates/shaper_helixultimate/html/com_content/article/default.php ?

  • A priori alterweb.info.php is useless: templates/shaper_helixultimate/html/com_content/article templates/shaper_helixultimate/overrides/com_content/article because I deactivated them without change! ?

  • You seem to have copied my old code (no difference file) ? I really have trouble understanding. is the override with joomla 4 has changed? I questioned on French forum and a priori no!?

In any case thank you for telling me the best practices so that I do not bother you more and the display of the category (as old site) Thanks

hi Ok great this looks good. Not sure I understand everything; It looks like you made an addition in the default.php file. So there would be differences in the original j4/j3 code!? I will try to understand and do the same thing on the 2 other sites Regards

HI Thank you for your reply. I had done it but the safest thing to do, except for your warning, is to rename it as before. I will be sure that it will not be overwritten. Just be careful to postpone the changes if they happen

If you keep a backup then it will be good. But, Not bad to keep rename the file. Thanks
