and override phrase: COM_SPPAGEBUILDER_ADDON_AJAX_CONTACT_PHONE

use Method #3 from above guide.

I tried to do the language override and it didn't work correctly. Why should I need to go through this to fix the problem when it wasn't an issue before.

Probably in template that you are using that addon was overriden.

In raw Helix3, Helix Ultimate or or newer templates this problem do not exist.
