Some Pages Still Using Id After Enabling 'Search Engine Friendly URLs'

I have followed the instructions to use search engine friendly URLs , it worked for some of the urls, for example:

http://41.185.65.97/~antoine1/test/bakkies-rental-rates http://41.185.65.97/~antoine1/test/rent-to-own

But i see that some are still using the old structure like this one:

http://41.185.65.97/~antoine1/test/component/sppagebuilder/?view=page&id=43

Hi. You should asign page to menu item. If you do not want this menu item to be displayed, hide it. But the page must be assigned to the menu item be sure to. Then you should copy the link from the menu item and use it in Button Addon. This is the main rule of publication of SP pages.

Joomla SEF does not affect links from SP PB. So the use of links like this .../test/component/sppagebuilder/?view=page&id=43 not allowed. It is hidden from indexing search engines. Designed for editing only.

...And you can use in all addons, in the link fields the relative path.

Hi,

Yes, Pavel have right. To use short URLs you have to:

  1. Add all pages to menu, you can use also "Hidden" Menu. Then Joomla generate aliases.
  2. After step (1) - update all links used in Addons (Buttons etc), Modules and Articles.
  3. Then you can use also extra SEO/SEF extension to improve Google Score.

It's how it works since Joomla 1.x

Thanks!

What about the articles? Do they also need to be added to a menu?

Just add to menu category view OR article list view as menu item.
