Site "home" Page After Login Using Helix

Helix Framework 3 years ago

Hello -- first off, thank you for such wonderful extensions and the Helix framework which allows for construction of professional looking sites very quickly. I'm a relatively new customer to JoomShaper and I love it!!!

I'm hoping you can help me with something. I'd like the default "Home" page to be different when logged in. For instance, when one arrives at my site and selects the top/left logo, it brings them to the public landing page. When logged in, however, I'd like this to bring them to the registered landing area however clicking that logo still brings them to the public landing page (which is set to the "Home" menu item). Problem is that registered individuals really don't need to see the public (unregistered) page and their default should be something else.

Any thoughts you have on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. Tip: Similar questions are better to ask on forum.joomla.org. This applies to Joomla core but not to the template.

However ... I see two ways.

  1. You need to find or order the development of a plugin that when click on the main site URL will be redirected logged users to the page you need.
  2. You can assign different access to menu items. But here you need to experiment. Not sure that the site will work normally if you assign Guest Access for Home Page. And in addition, you can create a copy of the template style by assigning it to the menu items for registered users. Create your own header for this copy where, instead of logo, use custom joomla module сontaining logo image with another link.

Great -- thank you so much and I have been researching the general Joomla functionality. I wasn't sure if the Helix framework/template operated differently.

Thanks again!
