well.. i think i downgraded to SP Page Builder v4.0.5, and I got the instagram to work now. appears v4.0.6 broke it.

it's kind of a three-fold problem for me. v4.0.6 absolutely broke it for me, the facebook login popup dialogue was not coming up with v4.0.6

when i installed sppb v4.0.5, the facebook window dialogue showed up again. although that was not my entire problem.

i actually had to recreate the facebook app completely, and lastly, after the facebook logging in and connection, it didn't save the credentials for some reason.

i had to pop into phpmyadmin to update the table with the generated access token and igId (instagram ID), its inside the XXXX_extensions table. it may be easiest to download the SQL table to find which "id" it is... search the table for the "app_id" the facebook app id.. you should find something like this.

we had to update the "OUR_ACCESS_TOKEN" and "OUR_IG_ID" with the provided in the popup.

results may vary.. hope this helps.. i know its a pain. but it's what we have right now.

i get that Required "app_id" key not supplied in config and could not find fallback environment variable "FACEBOOK_APP_ID"

Hello guys,

Please go to SP Page Builder settings from Global Configuration and set your Facebook APP ID and Access Token. It will work then. There is a bug setting on SP Page Builder -> Get Started -> Settings. It will be fixed soon.

I am confused.... Are you talking about the Token or the secret? What will be used?

At developers.facebook.com I have created the following: Instagram-App-ID Instagram-App-Secret Instagram-Access Token

But in SPPB (I use 4.0.8) I am prompted to enter the "App ID" and the "App Secret" and there is a button to "Generate Token" who will not work.

I cannot get v4.0.8 to work either, I have to install old version of SP Page Builder to generate access token. The old version v4.0.5 works for me.

On the other hand, I am not sure JoomShaper will send that to you .

I really appreciate Ofi Khan's tutorial, but something somwhere SP Page Builder v4.0.6+ , the Instagram token generator does not always work. and its a bug somewhere in sp page builder.

when joomshaper released v4.0.8 they said they fixed all known bugs.. this instagram bug is not even on their radar as an issue.. very sad life for instagram implementors..

We do all of your steps and do everything right, only thing left after creating facebook key and secret, is to click on the generate instagram token right? something like that?

well, when we get to that point to generate the token, nothing happens, or if it pops up, nothing loads, or says error. that is.. when sp page builder version 4.0.6+ is installed..

when we install sp page builder version 4.0.5, the instagram token pops up and gets generated, however, when we click save and close, it does nothing.

at that point, at least we have a token, we copy that token, and manually insert it into the database via phpmyadmin, then the instagram gallery finally works after that much work.

on top of that, the instagram token get broken from time to time randomly, so we need to go in painstakingly again to get it all setup again with the process above.

if you want access to the website that has this issue, so you can see, i am willing to let you in to take a look, just let me know, and i'll put it in the hidden content. thank you for your question, Ofi Khan!

I absolutelly agree with infini. That was the reason for my question. It doesn't matter what you enter. Nothing happens when you click on "Generate Token".

We have figured out the issue. If you input the token in SP Page Builder -> Dashboard -> Settings, then sometimes it does not work. Please go to SP Page Builder settings from Global Configuration and set it there. Then it will work. We are working on this and will fix it in the upcoming release.

This will be the link where you have to insert the Instagram Token.

There is another concern that you might have faced. The token needs to be regenerated after 60 days. This is a limitation from Facebook but we are working to improve this too. We will try to regenerate the token from the component itself.

Absolute progress on finding an issue, and also recognizing limitation with token regenration

I have asked the question about the token expiring so many times, and no admittance to the issue, but here I see you have addressed it in at least acknowledging an issue.

Appreciate this update so much!

We hope you guys can figure out the auto-regenration of the token, i see so many other apps out there can already do this. but, we want to stick with sp page builder!
