SP Page Builder 4 Pro (RC) Still Getting An Error Saving SPPB Module In The Backend

Hello! I just installed SP Page Builder 4 Pro (RC) and went to the Module Manager and edited a SPPB Module then hit save, I'm still getting an error:

An error has occurred. 0 preg_match_all(): Argument #2 ($subject) must be of type string, stdClass given

Here's the screenshot:

If you try to create a new SPPB Module then hit save the first time, you're not getting this error but try to edit the same module that you just edited and hit save.

Would be nice if you guys can attach a fix here so I can move on with my dev rather than waiting for the next package release please.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hello LAC Webadmin

Thanks for testing the product. Which PHP version are you using? Also, please check your issue with PHP 7.4 or lower.

Best regards

Hi Ofi,

I'm working on a dev server and running J4 and PHP 8.0.x and since SPPB v4 is still on dev it cannot be used for production, right? Also, why do you guys keep on asking me to test it with PHP 7.4? This is the second time I was asked to do it. Don't you guys need to make your code compatible with PHP 8.0 or 8.1 already? PHP 7.4 is already EOL for 2 years already, if I'm not mistaken.

Regardless, I am reporting the bug or error with SPPB Module. I am hoping you guys give me an answer that your dev will fix it ASAP and not ask me to use an older version of PHP to make your product work properly. That's not a solution.

Anyhow, let me ask you and please answer me directly and clearly. Are you guys developing SPPB v4 to be compatible with PHP 7.4 only? If you do, then I would stop developing our website using SPPB, that's not a good sign.

Thanks!

Any update to the SPPB V4 Module? If you guys already fix it, can I have the module please?

Thanks!

Apology for the delay. I have got the confirmation from the developer. This bug is only produced in PHP 8. We are working on it. Our first priority is making the component PHP 7 compatible. Then eventually, we will add PHP 8 support. We hope that we will release PHP 8 support in the final version. Please stay tuned with us.

DO NOT USE SP Page Builder 4 RC ON PRODUCTION SITES

Thanks for the feedback. It will be fixed when we will add PHP 8 support.
