Compatible Cookie Consent

Hello, while using the SP Page Builder Pro editor I need to switch off a cookie consent tool (plugin; "Cookie Hint and Consent") in Joomla. If cookie consent tool is enabled the content of the SP page will not be displayed, only header and footer. Your SP cookie consent is not fully EU Cookie Law compliant.

Could you please propose a cookie consent tool for Joomla which is GDPR compliant and compatible with SPPBPro which does not need to be switched off during editing pages. Or please describe a work around procedure to enable editing with an activated cookie consent tool.

Thank you in advance.

Thomas

Hello

Thank you for your query. There are plenty of reliable extensions available in the Joomla extensions directory to manage cookies and resources on your Joomla site. One of them is SP Cookie Consent which lets you display a cookie or other legal notice on your Joomla website and inform the visitors that your site uses cookies.

Hello, thank you for the reply. The proposals mentioned are not target oriented: SP cookie consent is not GDPR compliant and we do not have an issue to create a compliant website. The issue still is that SP Page Builder Pro needs always the disabling of a cookie consent tool prior to editing. I tried out a few of them. While editing with SPPBPro the website is not GDPR compliant. Normally, the editor needs to be usable with cookie consent tool enabled.

Please provide a workaround or another solution.

Best regards Thomas

Thomas, If I may...

just use different cookie extension and uninstall ours, for example, many German webmasters use: CookieHint plugin.

For more advanced GDPR features you have to install dedicated component GDPR ( from storejextensions.org)

Hi,

I agree and understand not to use SP cookie consent. And I read another entry where you proposed CookieHint and Consent. As I mentioned I checked out another few tools but as well these (like CookieHint and Consent) are suppressing/blocking the editing function of SPPBPro while all pages are displayed fine. Will there be a solution now or in the next future that SPPBPro editing works an enabled third party cookie consent tool? I already read that this is not in the development pipeline of Joomshaper. Best regards Thomas

Thomas, I think you have to talk with CookieHint developer how to disable some technical cookies from SPPB that cause problems as you noticed (?).

But I think there is other way...

because CookieHint is a plugin you can set "Access" to Guests only, so it will not be used for logged users like Super User.
