Problems After Upgrading To SP Page Builder Pro V4.0

Peter KORTGE

SP Page Builder 3 years ago

Hi:

Upgraded from latest v3 SP Page Builder Pro to v4.

Site is running Joomla! v4.1.5, Fixter Template and PHP v8.0. Everything is up-to-date as per v4 upgrade instructions.

[Home] page of website will load OK, and also next menu [About] and next menu [Services], but clicking on [Contact] menu gives me a spinning black circle and then no pages will load.

Can login to the Joomla! Admin backend OK and can access the SP Page Builder Pro component. However if I click on any page to edit I just get a spinning black circle and no page load.

Clearing the Browser Cache will fix the fontend not loading for a brief while, then problem reoccurs - usually immediately after I login to website Joomla! Admin backend:-(

Problem exists across multiple Web Browsers and PHP v7.4, v8.0 & v8.1.

I have got the fix from the developer.

Please go to this location: templates/shaper_fixter/js and replace main.js file with the attached file. You need to unzip the file and then replace.

main.js.zip

Then go to this location: components/com_sppagebuilder/addons/js_slideshow and replace site.php file with the attached file. You need to unzip the file and then replace.

site.php.zip

Hopefully, this will solve your issue.

Hello Peter KORTGE

Your site is currently running with SP Page Builder 3. I have taken a site backup and updated SP Page Builder 4 on my localhost. Here, every page works fine while I test.

Best regards

Apologies ... copied details from previous Support Ticket without checking. :-(.

Problem is with v4 install at https://yanchep-plumbing.com.au/fixter and not the previous v3 install at https://www,yanchep-plumbing.com.au/cms/ .

Username and password is the same.

Hi:

Just tested now and logged in OK using credentials below.

FYI: Server security (Imunify360) blocked your IP Address (and my IP Address) due to "unusual" activity.

Hi Ofi:

There are two (2) issues ...

1/. The public frontend will only load a few pages before nothing further loads. The only way to get any pages to load again is to clear the browser cache for the website. This allows 2 or 3 pages to load and then nothing further loads - page just shows the spinning SP preloader circle. See screenshot attached.

2/. The Joomla! Admin backend shows no errors. When I go to the SP Page Builder Pro component and then go to [Pages] and click on a page link, only the menu loads at left but the page is blank except for the spinning SP preloader circle.

Also, when I use the browsers [Inspect Element] it shows two "vendor.js:" errors. See screenshot attached.

Hi Ofi:

Thanks ... Looking forward to it being released.

In the meantime is there a pre-release beta I can download & test to see if the problem has been fixed and to allow me to work on this site while waiting for this next release?

Hi Ofi:

Downloaded & installed v4.0.2 for site at Yanchep Plumbing and it appeared to fix issue of pages not loading, but after a minute I get the "spinning circle" appearing in the front end and page contents don't load :-(

And when logged in as Administrator, the [Edit] buttons don't appear on public frontend.

While the Joomla! Admin backend shows no errors, when I go to the SP Page Builder Pro component and then go to [Pages] and click on a page link, only the menu loads at left but the page is still blank as before except for the spinning SP preloader circle.

Can you please invesitgate & advise ASAP?

Hi Ofi:

No, it is still not working for me across multiple devices.

Website frontend shows spinning circle, backend only loads menu and no data as detailed before.

When I clear browser cache of all data, website loads OK for a few menus then doesn't load anymore. Also still can't edit any pages !

I need to get it working ASAP!

Happy to share my screen with you so you can see the problems?

Hi:

I've today updated to v4.0.3 and pages in the frontend show for a few loads, then just spinning SP preloader circle.

And also when I go to [Pages] in the backend and click on Edit I still get the Page Builder menu but no content showing, just spinning SP preloader circle !!!.

I need my problem identified and fixed please in the next release - It's been three (3) updates now and problem is still there ! !

Hi again:

Now back in the Office.

Yes, website loads Home page, then I click on a menu and it loads, then I click on another menu and it loads, then I click on another menu and page doesn't load and I'm left with a blank screen and a spinning SP Page Builder Preloader circle.!!!

And I can't see an [Edit] link in the frontend and when I click to Edit a page from the SP Page Builder backend I always get a spinning SP Page Builder Preloader circle.!!!

Can we do a Screen Share so I can show you the problem?

Hi Ofii:

Here is the video link showing the problem in both frontend and backend:- SP Page Builder Pro Problem.

The frontend after a few menus stops working and just shows the spinning circle and the backend goes straight to a spinning circle as soon as I click on a page to edit.

Note: The [Edit] link also doesn't show in the frontend when I'm logged in so I can't edit any pages :-(.

Hi yet again:

Despite your assurances on Friday, 26th August "Please take our sincere apology for the unwanted delay. I have already forwarded your issue to the team. The team will assist you as soon as possible." I haven't heard from you or seen any action taken on my problem?

This is getting "tedious" :-(

Hi Again:

No, it's not a Safari issue - it happens across ALL browsers.

Don't use Google Chrome, but here is the issue on Firefox Developer Edition.

See this movie Yanchep Piumbing Issue.

Apology for the delay. I have checked with Firefox. After clearing Global Check-in, it also works fine. The only issue I face is with Safari browser. I have asked the developer to check it. It looks like a bug. Please wait for the next update or so on.
