SP Page Builder 3 years ago

Hi

I worked with Page Builder Pro 3. Then I renew my subscription and installed the new version 4.0.4. After that I can't edit my existing pages. I have no list with the pages in Joomla.

What is wrong?

Thanks Hans

After I upgrade from 3.8.8 to SPPB Pro 4.0.4 I have this screen you see here: https://snipboard.io/4SuhAT.jpg

No pages I can edit, no arroy by Pages... No list with my existing pages.

What is wrong?

What is about PHP 8? Not working until today?

Any ideas? Is it not possible to upgrade to 4.0.4 from 3.8.8?

Hello

Yes, it is possible, but make sure to test the page builder on a staging site and see if everything works as it should. You can follow the tips below before updating:

It doesn't work, sorry...

Have you seen my screenshot?

On the left side there is the point "SP Page builder Pro". And there is the "greater-than sign" missing. No list with my existing pages.

What is wrong???

Thanks

Yes I have checked the screenshot. It is suppose to look like that. It doesn't show any particular problem. Have you clicked on "Get started" ? Do you face any issue after that?

After "Get started" I can edit the pages in the front end. But I never used that before. I edit my pages in the backend.

With 3.8.8 I had a "greater-than sign. If i clicked this I had a list with my pages and could edit it. And now nothing. where can I edit my pages like before? why is this sign missing? on other menu points it is still there.

Thanks for your support

In the previous version, there was a backend editor where you had those options. But in this new version (v4), we have removed the backend editor completely. There is only the Frontend editor here now. SP Page Builder 4.0 has a completely new architecture and we can not add backend edit support to it. However, at JoomShaper, regardless of any challenges we face, we always put our customers first. That’s why we have decided to give regular updates to the 3.x series as we have been for at least the next three years. If you want you can use the previous version 3.8.8. SP Page Builder 3.x series will continue to receive security patches, updates, and compatibility support for at least the next 3 years. In the meantime, you can test version 4 and get familiar with it for your ease of use.

And, if you want you can check more about the Frontend editor of the new version of SP Page builder in the documentation link below:

OK, this are not good news for me. The backend editor was the better way for me to edit the pages. Easier than the frontend editor...

What is about PHP 8? If I change PHP from 7.4 to 8 I can' t use the frontend editor. There is an PHP error message.

Can you please try downgrading the PHP & check again? Helix3 is not compatible with PHP 8.0 yet but it will soon be compatible. Our Developers are working on that.
