SP Page Builder Version 4 Doesn't Allow Me To Edit The Structure

SP Page Builder 3 years ago

I just updated to version 4 (4.0.5) of SP Page Builder, and I have integrated it into Joomla Articles (in version 3 of SP Page Builder).

In version 3 of SP Page Builder, it allowed me to edit the structure of the elements (I could see each block, give it a name, and edit the corresponding items in the back-office). The new version makes me edit everything in a preview version of the page, but that doesn't work for me, because first it doesn't allow me to edit anything (maybe a z-index clash with some item?, and also it doesn't show any way to view the names of the sections, etc.

How can I have the same behaviour that I had in version 3?

So, as I can read, there will be no more back-end editor in version 4. That's awful! I understand that version 3 will be supported for three more years, but when it reaches the end? no more back-end editor and the problem will still be there.

With version 4 I have to click at least one more time to go to the editor, it opens another window, and the chance of leaving checked-out articles will be greater than ever.

Also, I have javascript transformations that modify some add-ons on the front-end, and editing in the front doesn't show me those transformations.

Finally, I have some kind of clash with my template's javascript/CSS and I cannot edit anything. I will have to spend a lot of time debugging something that was working (almost) perfectly in version 3.
