How To Change Helix Ultimate Header Background Color - Preset Edit Doesn't Seem To Work

Helix Framework 2 years ago

Hi. Is there a trick to getting the Preset edit to work for changing the Helix Ultimate header background color? I read the documentation and edited the preset but the header background remains the same color (white). I tried clearing cache. I also tried editing other presets, like top bar color, etc., and none change. This is on a fresh J4.3.1 install with fresh Helix Ultimate 2.0.12 install and for the predefined header. The documentation explains you should be able to edit the presets. Thanks.

Hi there!

I have some suggestions for you! Reason can be one of them:

You may try to go in Advanced > SCSS > Compile SCSS to CSS and toggling the option. Once you're done with your colors you can remove it.

So, you might try toggling the custom style setting on/off during change to see if there isn't just an old file that's loading and isn't yet rewritten by the compile function.

You may try enabling compress the CSS and Javascript to get it to work.

Sometimes the main reason for not showing the changes is Adblock software installed on the computer. After disabling the Adblock software the changes are shown immediately.

Clear Joomla and Browser cache(Most important)

Hope this helps!

Best Regards

Hi. Thanks for the response. I tried these suggestions and the results were spotty, at best. Editing the Presets and going through the suggestions sometimes resulted in changes, sometimes not and sometimes changes "stuck" even when reverted back. There is something not right with the Ultimate Helix template/framework in the current version. The code does not seem to compile properly based on the settings. It is frustrating to try to use as outlined in the documentation. A user should not have to go through the suggestions you list to have the template/framework work as intended. It appears I am not alone with having these issues. Is there a real fix in the works?

Hello Alaskan,

I understand! Personally, I can work with Helix Ultimate smoothly though. And a vast number of our customers also.

However, I agree that a user should not have to go through this. But all environment is not similar so we try to make sure to just toggle something that can cause conflicts with third-party components sometimes.

Would you please give me your admin access to have a look?

Best Regards
