Hi, trying to enter the sp page builder using the backend gives me always a result "Your session has expired! Please login again to continue. If you reload this page, you may lose your data." I'm using different devices (macbook / iMac) and all are running with actual softwareversions

  • MacOS Ventura / 13.5
  • Safari 16.6
  • Joomla 4.3.3.
  • SP Pagebuilder 5.0.7
  • everywhere the same results.

Reset the browser (safari), deleting cookies/cache etc. brings no result.

Using the frontend gives me access to the pages.

In that case we need access to your Joomla 4x as Super User (or Spiderman or Thor)

I admits that this is an unusual error, so far no one has had it. Probably conflict by extra extension.

Hi Jens,

please change this settings in System > Global Configuration > System (Tab) > Session

  • Session Handler - if you have "Database" change to "Filesystem" (J4) or "PHP" (J3)
  • Session Lifetime (minutes) : if you have 15 - change to - 30
  • Then Save changes.
  • Then as smart webmaster use different browsers (Firefox, Chrome) to be sure, it's not a temporary Safari mood problem.

Hi Paul thanks for the quick response ! I changed the settings as you described :

Session Handler - if you have "Database" change to "Filesystem" (J4) 👍 or "PHP" (J3) Session Lifetime (minutes) : if you have 15 - change to - 30 👍 Then Save changes 👍 Then as smart webmaster use different browsers (Firefox, Chrome) to be sure, it's not a temporary Safari mood problem. (new installation)

I still get the same results.

FIXED

I disabled external extension "Two Factor Authentication 2FA" that was from 2019, and not J4 ready. Please uninstall it. In Joomla core plugin this feature is already there, you don't need extra one, In particular, if it doesn't work andf create problem.

Yes, that extra (old) extension generated a problem, that's why only you had that session error.
