Bug In SP Page Builder 5 - Not Saving And Applying Changes In Text Blocks

Hi, there is serious bug in the latest version of SP Page Builder 5 / backend editor. It sometimes saves the changes and sometimes it doesn't. I recorded it and posted as private video on my youtube here> https://youtu.be/ePcmeuoXJYs

I am using Firefox with disabled caching.

It's frustrating to do all the work over and over. I was so happy that the new editor brings back what I loved about SP Page Builder 3, but it has this flaw. I installed it over a fullpackage website with SP Page Builder 4 and started editing the pages. But the saving is very random.

Do you have any other tips than those shared in chat, which I follow?

Hi Petra,

This very issue is something that we've been discussing in another forum post; SPPB Doesn't Save Changes When Using Code Editor. I have not tried the solution that was provided yet; update to SPPB v5.0.9, since I don't have the time to do so at the moment. It may/may not help but I thought you should be aware that others are having this very issue as well. Great video showing the issue in the real-time; nice work!

Regards.

Hello Petra

Apology for the inconvenience. The issue is only with the JCE Editor. Please save the text block in Editor mode after you paste your code. It will be saved. However, we will check and fix this issue in the next release.

Hi Ofi Khan,

It is obvious to me that you did not read the link that I posted. I specifically noted; "I've cycled through all of the editors; JCE, TinyMCE, and CodeMirror, but the results remain the same." It is a complete crapshoot as to what happens when you hit the SAVE button. And saving the changes are but the tip of the iceberg with regards to SPPB v5.x issues as a whole, as noted in several other forum posts by several other people. Additionally, someone already tested SPPB v5.0.9 and verified that that patch did not resolved the issue either. SPPB v5.x has a multitude of issues and truly isn't ready for primetime yet; it needs a lot more testing and updating of its code.

Regards.

I have read your message. I have tested with other editors. The issue is only found with JCE. It will be fixed in 5.0.10.
