I’m new to SPPB multilingual website creation. I’m creating 4x brand new websites with Joomla 4.3.4, SPPB 5.1.0 and Helix Ultimate 2.0.15 OR Joomla Templates based on Helix Ultimate 2.0.13 for Joomla 4.3.3. and SPPB 5x ready. Now I read through the forum with the search “multilingual” (going back for almost 2 years) and the following blog is reverenced as a key guide with a 10 step approach.

Now I need English EN and German DE to begin with, but will add Spanish ES, Arabic AR (Right to left RTL) and Chinese CN to it later. So, this is what I understood and the issues I’m running into:

Step 6: Add Menu Items for the Languages – this seems to be the challenge! It looks like I need to connect HOME EN with a copy of the TEMPLATE STYLE like: “shaper_helixultimate – EN” & “shaper_helixultimate – DE” or any other JoomlaTemplate based on Helix Ultimate like “JoomlaTemplate – EN” & “JoomlaTemplate – DE” – and I can add others later. IS THIS CORRECT? This means I need the copies of the Template Styles now and not at Step 9 – correct?

Step 7: Menu Association via the Menu Item – seems CLEAR Step 8: Enable Language Switcher Module – CLEAR

Step 9: Duplicate Template Style – this is a bit confusing?! According to the picture “Menu items 2” under Step 6 I should have already connected the “HOME – EN” with the “shaper_helixultimate – EN” Template Style OR will this happen only if I pic “HOME – EN” as seen on the “Template Style 3” picture?

Step 10: Content Localization Method – seems CLEAR For adding existing blogs content is it possible to use the JCE editor for the content?

QUESTION 1: Once I created the copies do I still need the default template version from example - “shaper_helixultimate – EN” & “shaper_helixultimate – DE”? How do updates of the template work? In the forum this seems a problem. What is the current “easy” solution? So with currently Joomla 4.3.4, SPPB 5.1.0 and Helix Ultimate 2.0.15 based Templates, what are the best upgrade practices? Some remarks in the “Forums” are scarry difficult or cumbersome!?

QUESTION 2: Could you PLEASE make a FULLY workable quickstart pack available with 3 fully working languages like EN, DE, AR (RTL) and working content. I picked the quickinstall of “Mega Inc” but the language switcher works on the menues, but the content is always English. This is true for other packs with the language switcher on the Home page. I think a fully functional example would greatly help.
