I know this "work-around" works for new website but NOT for existing websites. I get it, the purpose of this string that I started was to address the existing Helix and Page Buidler bug(s) but I could not wait any longer. So I though I would share what I did anyway.
Instead of using the "quickstart" zip file I did the following:
- Did a manual install of Joomla 4.4 by using the file package from the Joomla.org website
- Through extension manager, installed the Helix Ultimate 2.0.17 template (zip) from Joomshaper
- Through extension manager, installed SP Page Builder Pro 3.8.10 zip file from Joomshaper
This allowed me to use the newest version of Joomla 4 and the stable version of SP Page Builder. I have been working with the back-end (not the front end) for about 6 hours with zero issues. One thing I did notice - doing it this way, you do not get all the add-ons that come with certain templates. For example I could find the add-on Call-To-Action either by search or going through the list.
Now that I have a working website I was curious on what would happen if:
A) I updated from SPPB 3.x to the new version of 5.x. The result was the issue returned, I could not save changes.
B) I downgrade from SPPB 5.x to 3.x. It corrupted the database and the website became unusable. Not being a database pro, I did not know how to fix it.
My conclusion, I will continue with the steps 1-3 above until I see the new relases from JoomShaper which I hope are soon.
My Current Versions:
PHP 8.0
Joomla 4.4
Helix Ulta 2.0.17
SP Builder 3.8.10
