Error Updating PB 3 To 5

SP Page Builder 2 years ago

Hello, with updating I get this error:

public_html/xxxxx/components/com_sppagebuilder/builder/classes/base.php' (include_path='.:/opt/alt/php81/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php81/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php')

I could update this backup to J4.4, Helix 2.017 without any issues. Updating to SP5 goes wrong

*update

I installed PB 3 again and could update the tables again. After that I installed PB 5.0.17 again and could restore more tables.

The slider is not shown, some icons styling is messed up and extra margins added on textblocks and headings.

When I uninstall PB 5 and install PB 3.8.10 the slider is back. Icons ok and margins ok again.

Yes, thank you very much. seems ok now. Have you seen the issue and what caused it please? This is a backup on my server not the live version so you could test. I have similair websites with about the same structure I need to update. Telling me the steps you did will help me out a lot. I can see is you installed and uninstalled items for a reason.

Kind regards,

I just uninstalled the Page Builder 3 then installed Page Builder 5. If you use any module of Page builder then you need to keep backup of your page builder modules JSON file. Besides, You should keep a backup of your site. Thanks

Yes, this is SP5 screenshot. backup Json files only works with PB5 I assume.

Updated another website from PB3 to PB5. Was ok, no issues. There was no slider present or involved on this website.

The website you updated for me the slider was gone in the frontend. What caused that? That was the main issue of this post and I need to know how to by-pass that on the live version. This was a backup on my own server.

I still don't know why the slider didn't show up so still in the dark.

Hello, this was the reason the slider did not work with the update from PB3>PB5?

Update 5.1.19

Fix: The missing custom class field for all types of Slideshow item.

kind regards,

So on your side the update went smooth without the missing of the slider now.

Last week on my test server at first you also missed the slider after first update, that was 5.1.18. I saw in the backend history you also ran into issues first time. After uninstall and install for the second time it was ok.

Nah, no need to update, it's a backup. You can delete it. You already did updated the one the testserver.

Never mind, thanks for the help.
