Problem With Video Element

Hi,

I think there is a bug in the video element of the latest SP Page Builder release.

With the following settings the video does not start automatically:

  • Show Controls [ON]
  • Loop [ON]
  • Mute Video [OFF]
  • Autoplay [ON]

With the following settings the video does not start at all:

  • Show Controls [OFF]
  • Loop [ON]
  • Mute Video [OFF]
  • Autoplay [ON]

It would also be great to have a mute button when you start the video without controls but with music. Like in your slideshow video element.

I am testing on a local environment with the newest joomla and sp page builder version.

Just saying that this is the last day of our subscription. We only use 1 of 3 included Domains and can not renew the subscription each year. If I got no access to the help desk after subscription ends, please let me know how to fix the video player problems via email.

  1. Can you share link to example page where you have that Video addon.
  2. Do you talk about Desktop view or Mobile view?

Hi Paul,

the problem occurs on web and mobile views.

I was testing on a local environment and uploaded it to a test site during the last hour. You find the details below.

Timo,

  1. First problem, your domain does not use SSL (https) - please enable that in hosting panel or contact with Hosting Support "How to enable that". This is required by the Joomla Media & SPPB Media.
  2. If possible try to reduce video file size from 20MB (current) to 10MB. Upload a new, smaller file.
  3. It would never autoplay with video muted because browsers software restrictions. Autoplay must have audio muted. if you want to include the audio then you have to enable the controls.
  4. In case of ... as last step in Video addon use full path to video file, with https and domain name - and recheck.

Slow playing problems can be with file load time as well, over which we have no control.
