This feature is very popular on ecommerce platforms but there would be lots of uses for this on a CMS platform.
IE
- A map with specific areas you click and it gives you a modal pop up with info image link
- A images with multi persons and you want to put info on these people when you click
- A multi product life style photo where you add in product info on click and option to buy
