Please assign your article category to a menu item, then the URL will be a good looking one automatically. You can keep the menu item as hidden if you do not want it to show as one of your main menu items.

If the page is assigned to a menu item then the URL will be much more readable automatically. You can easily update the alias by creating a hidden menu from the menu manager either.

That is what I ended up doing, but it creates a small issue for SEO. Non-indexable page links. Not that big of a deal, just not ideal. thank you
