SP Page Builder Category Relationship To Joomla Category

I'm replacing existing Joomla site pages with SP Page Builder pages (Educon II template).

In our existing site we have pages in categories and menu items that provide a category blog. I'm trying to replicate this using Page Builder pages and have a few questions about how Page Builder works:

  1. Can a Page Builder page be added to a Joomla category, if so how? The Category dropdown appears to only show PB categories.
  2. What are Page Builder Categories? 3. How are they related to Joomla categories 4. how can I set up a menu item in Joomla to produce a category blog using them.
  3. If I set up an PB page using the "Articles" element, the categories listed are Joomla categories rather than PB categories, how do I create a category blog of PB pages?

Thank you for your advice.

Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out.

  1. No.
  2. Please check the following documentation for details: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/categories
  3. They are not related to Joomla categories.
  4. Categories cannot be used for displaying a list of pages on the front end (from menu item), they are for administrator purposes only.
  5. With the help of Joomla article integration in SP Page Builder, you can create and beautify your Joomla articles with the SP Page Builder editor. This way your articles look like SPPB pages, but they remain as Joomla articles, and you can use Joomla categories to create your category blog pages. Please check the following documentation: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/integrations

The blog post can be helpful about the concept too, even though it is a bit old: https://www.joomshaper.com/blog/beautify-your-joomla-blog-posts-with-sp-page-builder

Sorry, Rashia, attached to the wrong post, I've accepted your answer above and decided to use my existing Joomla category/aricle structure with Page Builder to enhance the Joomla articles.

Thank you
