Invoice - Show Amount Without Tax

Hi dear people,

I have a question regarding the invoice layout. By law, we are required to show the total amount excluding tax, the tax amount, and the total amount including tax — for example:

Subtotal: €200 Tax (20%): €40 Total Amount: €240

However, at the moment, the invoice shows it like this:

Subtotal: €240 Tax (20%): €40 Total Amount: €240

Is there a way to also show the total amount excluding tax?

Many thanks in advance, Matt

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

Please note that the item totals in the invoice data are shown excluding tax. However, the main total will include tax once it’s applied based on the region.

Currently, there is no option to exclude tax from the main total.

Best regards,

Hi,

Thanks for your response.

On your screenshot it looks great, but unfortunately on my website it doesn’t display the same way. Please see the attached image — it only shows the total with tax and the tax amount, but not the subtotal excluding tax.

Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Best regards, Matt!

Could you please share temporary administrator access to your Joomla backend? You can provide the credentials securely in the hidden content section. Also, please take a full backup of your site before we make any changes.

Once I have access, I’ll investigate further and see what’s causing the issue. Let me know once you’ve shared the details!

Hi Zioul,

Absolutely. My apologies for the late reply — I wasn’t able to respond earlier. This issue is still a concern for us. I’ve placed the details in the hidden area and created a backup as well.

Many thanks in advance! 😄

In your easy store tax settings, You have set to Tax is already included in product price and shipping rate thats why it shows the data based on this also in invoice.

If you select this Tax should be calculated & displayed in the checkout page then it will show tax in checkour page, and also in your invoice it will show product price in sub total and tax amopunt will be shows separately.

You can check this from our documentation: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/easystore/tax-settings

Thanks

Hi Ziaul,

Thanks for checking. Yes, I’m well aware of this option. Unfortunately, it changes all prices displayed on the website, which is not in line with the standards in our country. Displaying prices excluding VAT is only acceptable in a business-to-business context.

What I need is quite simple: show the total price excluding VAT also on the invoice as required by law in our country, while keeping all prices on the website inclusive of VAT (as final consumer prices).

What would you recommend? Is there a developer you can refer me to who could implement this?

Or can you tell me which file i can make adjustments?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards, Matt

Thank you for your message.

Currently, there is no option available for the feature you mentioned. However, if you could provide more specific details about your requirement, I’d be happy to add it to our feature request list so our development team can consider it for a future update.

Thanks again for your feedback and support.

Best regards,

Thanks Zioul.

As per standard practice, we display all product prices including tax throughout the website. However, on the invoice, we are legally required to show:

  • The total amount excluding tax
  • The total tax amount
  • The total amount including tax

In general this is also displayed on the checkout but on the invoice it is legally required.

Could you please let me know which file or template controls the invoice layout? We need to make these adjustments as soon as possible to ensure legal compliance.

Thanks in advance! Best regards, Matt
