Creating A Survey Generates An Error.

Hello, I'm using Joomla 6.0.1, PHP 8.4, Helix Ultimate (latest version), and SP Page Builder (latest version).

When creating a survey question and trying to save the survey, I get this error and it doesn't save:

Data too long for column 'alias' at row 1

Could you please help me? Thank you.

I have doubts about whether that extension will be developed in the coming months.

If you need more customization options, maybe consider using different Polls extension or use external script.

For example, create a Poll/Survey using Google Tools (links below) then use embed code in SPPB. I think it's much more flexible solution, and still for free.

The error “Data too long for column 'alias' at row 1” in Joomla means that you are trying to save an alias (slug) that is too long for the database table column, which does not have enough capacity to hold it.

Make title shorter etc.

Survey/Polls are not from SPPB.

Warm greetings Paul Frankowski, and thank you very much for your response. As always, your kindness is always appreciated, as is your professionalism and willingness to help.

A few points to clarify:

  1. I created a first survey to test how it works, and it saved. However, when I created a second survey, it didn't save, generating an error. I had to delete the first survey and recreate it, which it wouldn't let me do initially, and then it saved. It's as if I can't have more than one survey at a time.

  2. Could I ask the question with a longer title and shorten the username?

  3. It's perfectly clear to me that surveys are not part of SPPB and are a separate component. Many of us are grateful to have this survey extension, especially since it's from JoomShaper. I hope you will expand its functionality.

  4. What I'm trying to do is create a survey with context. That is, at the top I want to display background information (pop-up articles, text, videos, audio, etc.) and at the bottom I want to embed the SP Poll module with the actual survey. To do this, I'm using an SPPB module to contain these two elements (a text block add-on and a survey module) and display them in a more engaging way than just a simple survey.
