SP Page Builder 5.7.2 – Error 500 When Opening Pages Section (Joomla 3.10)

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with SP Page Builder on one of my Joomla websites.

Environment • Joomla version: 3.10.12 Stable • PHP version: 8.1.33 • Database: MySQL 8.0.44-35 • SP Page Builder Pro version: 5.7.2

Problem

When I try to access the Pages section inside SP Page Builder (Components → SP Page Builder → Pages), the interface does not load and returns the following error:

Request failed with status code 500

I have attached a screenshot of the error page.

Troubleshooting already performed • Disabled Admin Tools to exclude firewall or security filtering • Cleared Joomla cache • Tested with the same administrator account • The problem persists consistently

Expected behavior

The Pages list should load normally so that existing pages can be edited or new ones created.

Additional question

Could this issue be related to PHP 8.1 compatibility with Joomla 3.10 and SP Page Builder 5.7.2, or to a database structure problem?

Thank you for your support.

Best regards Francesco

I would like to update the ticket with the solution.

The problem was caused by installing SP Page Builder Pro 5.7.2 on a Joomla 3.10.12 website.

The backend error:

Class "Joomla\Database\ParameterType" not found

appears because the newer versions of SP Page Builder use Joomla database classes that are not available in Joomla 3.

After downgrading the component to SP Page Builder Pro 5.4.6, which is the latest version compatible with Joomla 3, the problem was completely resolved and the Pages view in the administrator now works correctly.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards, Francesco

Hi Francesco,

I'm glad to hear that you were able to find a solution, and thank you for sharing it with us.

However, please note that support for Joomla 3 ended quite some time ago. We kindly recommend upgrading to Joomla 5 to ensure better security, performance, and continued compatibility.

Best regards,
