Hi,
This message usually means Joomla cannot download the update package from the update server. Since you mentioned that the license key is valid and the issue happens only occasionally on several websites, it is most likely not a license problem.
A few things you can check:
- Re-save the license information
Go to:
Components → SP Page Builder Pro → Settings → License & Update
Remove the license key and email, save, then paste them again and save. Make sure there are no extra spaces.
- Clear Joomla cache
Go to:
System → Maintenance → Clear Cache
Clear Joomla cache and also clear any server/CDN cache if you are using one.
- Check server restrictions
The update process requires the server to connect to the JoomShaper update server. Sometimes the following can block the download:
- ModSecurity rules
- Firewall restrictions
- Disabled
allow_url_fopen
- Server outbound connection restrictions
If the problem happens randomly across different servers, this is worth checking.
- Try again after clearing the update cache
Go to:
System → Update → Extensions
Click Purge Cache and then Find Updates again.
If it still fails, manual installation is safe:
System → Install → Extensions → Upload Package File
Download the latest SP Page Builder Pro package from your account and install it manually.
Since this happens on several websites, you would first check whether the hosting provider is blocking the update connection rather than the SP Page Builder license itself.
Regards.
