Gazette QuickStart frontend shows an error after installation

Asked by Michael Euskirchen 1 day ago Last activity 4 hours ago

After installing Gazette QuickStart, I can access the backend, but the frontend always shows an error message and is unresponsive in both Firefox and Opera. I expected the frontend to work after installation.

I have already checked the hosting PHP settings against the suggested requirements (PHP 8.2–8.4, at least 256 MB memory, and at least 300 seconds maximum execution time), checked for the Gazette v2.0.5 update, and checked for updates to the required extensions. These checks and updates have not resolved the frontend problem.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Could you please share temporary administrator access to your Joomla backend? You can provide the credentials securely in the hidden content section. Also, please take a full backup of your site before we make any changes.

Also add screenshot of your issues.

Once I have access, I’ll investigate further and see what’s causing the issue. Let me know once you’ve shared the details!

Best regards,

Hy,

Today I managed to reinstall the whole system:

As explained:
The backend works perfectly
The Frontend only throws errormessages on al testet browsers

  • subdomain without ssl ( testet with main domain incl. ssl same error)
  • MYSQL database 8.0 Provider Strato Germany

This Works with:

  • 3 several Helix Ultimate Quickstart and ssl SP PAge Builder Pro activatet
  • 1 subdomain and Helix Ultimate Quickstart SP Page Builder ( no Pro Version as an example site for my boss ;) )

The whole Gazette site is a fresh installation without any changes beside the activation of SP Page Builder Pro with my licence key an in my account the right web adress.

Error on this browsers:
Firefox Opera (all up to date) on a Windows 11 Pro System

This page isn’t working
test.ot-d.org has redirected you too many times.
(ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS)

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed explanation.

Since the Joomla backend is working correctly but the frontend shows ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS, the issue may be related to redirect configuration, Joomla settings, or a compatibility issue.

Could you please try the following steps?

  1. Clear your browser cookies and cache.
  2. Check the Joomla configuration.php file and .htaccess for any conflicting redirect rules, especially HTTP/HTTPS redirects.
  3. Temporarily disable SP Page Builder Pro and check whether the frontend works correctly.
  4. If the issue persists, contact your hosting provider to check the server configuration and redirect logs.

Since you mentioned that the issue started after activating SP Page Builder Pro, please also confirm whether the frontend was working before its activation.

Please let us know the results so we can investigate the issue further.

Thank you for your cooperation.
