Updating SPPB Converts To FREE In J4. Settings Lost After Update

Hello

Im noticing that when I go to update SPPB Pro in Joomla 4, it defaults to the Free version, so I have to manually install to Pro. I also updated Helix and now seeing all my previous template style settings being reset...so I have to go in and try and redo all my styles, colors, etc. Same thing is happening in my SPPB settings with the update. I try clearing all the cache...still absolute mess. Why arent my Template or SPPB settings being preserved after I update?

Ok, so what do you recommend? That I dont update to the latest version??? Unfortunately I have yet to see any bug I encounter in Helix or SPPB get resolved in future releases.

It is strongly recommended to not upgrade to the latest Joomla versions right now if you already have a live site. There can be issues. However, if you only have Helix Ultimate framework on your site, you can upgrade it to Helix Ultimate 2.x.x. This is not recommended if you have other templates as well in your site.

Ok very confusing, but Ill refrain from updating them for now.

So let me just back up and focus on one issue then. In my template settings, I have selected a Custom Preset, and using my own color settings for Header, Menu, etc...however those color settings arent reflecting in my site...my site is still using styles from the default.css stylesheet. Ive tried clearing cache and saving over and over...still cant get my custom settings to stick..the only way I can alter the colors is through customizing the default.css file. Is there a step Im missing?

Hi, Add your custom css on that location then it will work

Template Option -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS

Ok, yes, Custom CSS is an option, but I want to know why the custom presets arent working? Seems like something your team (and customers like me) would like fixed..since it's a core feature of your template. Would appreciate some insight on fixing the issue at hand. Thanks

Hi,

Sometimes this happens then we solve it by using custom CSS.

You can try one thing. Download the new quickstart and reinstall! But make sure you have a site backup

Thank you

Since I couldnt get any assistance from support team I had to do some A B testing on this myself, and found that when the "Compile SCSS" is turned off in Advanced Settings, the custom preset settings won't apply.. You have to turn back on the default Compile SCSS setting, clear the cache and the custom presets will start working again.

Disappointed I got a dismissive answer on this when there was a pretty clear solution. Hope this helps someone else.

Thanks for this information. This one help me too.So the solution is turn back on the default Compile SCSS setting, clear the cache and the custom presets may start working again.

Note it.
